Humanistic Counselling

A. Basic Concepts:
  1. Humans as living creatures that can determine for themselves what he was doing and that he  did not do, and free to be what she wants. Each person is responsible for all actions.
  2. Man is never static, it has always been something different, therefore man should dare to destroy the old patterns and self towards self-actualization
  3. Everyone has creative potential and could be a creative person. Creativity is a universal function of humanity which leads to all forms of self expression.

B. Assumptions Problem Behavior
Mental disorder caused by the individual concerned can not develop their potential. In other words, his experience depressed.

C. Objectives Counselling
  1.   Optimize the individual's consciousness of its existence and accept the situation according to what it is.
  2.   Improving and changing attitudes, perceptions way of thinking, beliefs and views of individual, unique, with no or less according to him so that individuals can develop themselves and enhance self-actualization as optimal as possible.
  3. Removing barriers perceived and internalized by individuals in the process of self-actualization.
  4.  Assist individuals in finding the free choices that might be reached under the condition itself.

D. Description Counselling Process

  1. The existence of a close relationship between the counselor and counselee.
  2. The existence of full freedom for individuals to bring problems and what they want.
  3. Counselors try my best to receive complaints and the attitudes and behaviors of individuals with without giving rebuttal.
  4. Elements of self-respect and respect for individual circumstances and confidence in the ability of individuals is the key, or base the most decisive in the counseling relationship.
  5.   Individual circumstances before the introduction of its environment is needed by the counselor.
E. Counseling Techniques

Techniques deemed appropriate to be applied in this approach is client centered counseling techniques, as developed by Carl R. Rogers. include: (1) acceptance (acceptance), (2) respect (respect), (3) understanding (comprehension), (4) reassurance (reassurance), (5) encouragementlimited questioning (questions limited, and (6) reflection (reflecting statements and feelings). (giving encouragement);

Through the use of these techniques can be expected counselee (1) understand and accept themselves and their environment well, (2) take the right decisions, (3) direct the self, (4) manifests itself.
