Principles - Principles of Guidance and Counselling

PRINCIPLE - PRINCIPLE GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING

According to Dra. Siti Rahayu Hadotono (1967) in his guiding principle of Guidance and Counselling suggested 12 principles of guidance and counseling (counseling) as follows:
1. Guidance and counseling is intended for children, adults and people who are old.
2. Every aspect of determining a person's personality rather than behavior that person. So that the guidance effort that aims to promote adjustment of individuals, individuals should try to also promote it in all aspects of it.
3. Efforts must be comprehensive guidance in principle to everyone, because everyone would have the problems that needed help.
4. Guidance to the principle of no. 2, then all teachers in schools should be a coach, because all students need guidance.
5. We recommend that all business education is the guidance, so the tools and teaching techniques should also contain a basic view of the guidance.
6. In providing some guidance should be remembered, that all people though mostly the same in nature, namaun have individual differences. And differences is what we must pay attention.
7. So that guidance can be successful, dibutuhkanlah insights about the man who guided it. It is therefore necessary to hold the programs evaluation (assessment) and the individual's quest-investigation. Both memerlukankumpulan records (cumulative records) on the progress and state of the person or child who had been mentored.
8. It must be remembered that the social upheavals, economic, political and can cause behavior that is difficult or incorrect adjustment (maladjustment). Associated with it also needed guidance baikanatara cooperation with agencies or foundations in the community who have business relationships with guidance
9. For children we must remember, bahwasikap parents and the home atmosphere greatly affects the child's behavior. Associated with this sometimes for some much needed difficulty understanding, willingness and good cooperation with the parents.
10. Function than the guidance is to help people so brave and can take responsibility for themselves in overcoming difficulties, so the result can be either personal advancement rather than a whole person.
11. Business guidance should be flexible (flexible) in accordance with the needs and circumstances and the needs of individual communities.
12. Finally, should not be forgotten, that the success or failure of a guidance largely depends on the people who ask for help themselves, the ability and willingness of the processes that occur within the person itself.

According to the Handbook Implementation Guidance and Counseling in 1994 that the ministry of guidance services and activities based on a number of principles, namely:
1. Principles relating to service targets:
a. Guidance and counseling service all indvidu regardless of age sex, race, religion, and socioeconomic status.
b. Guidance and counseling to deal with personal and individual behavior that is unique and dynamic.
c. Guidance and counseling take fully into account the stage and various aspects of individual development.
d. Guidance and counseling to give major attention to individual differences in the orientation of the principal services.
2. Principles relating to individual problems
a. Guidance and counseling to deal with matters concerning the influence of the physical condition / mental adjustment of the individual against himself at home, at school, as well as in connection with social contacts and work, and conversely the effect of environment on mental state and the individual disik.
b. Social inequalities, economic. And culture is a factor of problems on the individual and all guidance services become a major concern.
3. Principles relating to program services:
a. Guidance and counseling is an integral part of education and individual development, therefore iru mentoring programs should be tailored and integrated with educational programs and development of learners.
b. Guidance and counseling programs should be flexible, tailored to the needs of individuals, communities, and state institutions.
c. Guidance and counseling program developed in a sustainable manner and level of education the lowest to the highest.
d. The content and implementation of guidance and counseling program is necessary to an orderly and purposeful assessment.
4. Principles relating to the exercise of service:
a. Guidance and counseling should be geared to individual development that ultimately capable of guiding themselves in the face permasalahnnya.
b. In the process of guidance and counseling and was about decisions taken by individuals should be the individual's own volition, not because of the willingness or the insistence of the supervisor or other parties.
c. Individual problems should be handled by experts in fields relevant to the problems faced
d. Cooperation between mentors, teachers and parents was crucial result of guidance services
e. Development of guidance and counseling service program pursued through the maximum utilization of measurement results and an assessment of the individuals involved in the process of care and guidance and counseling program itself.


According to author Tim Guidebook Implementation Guidance and Counselling Service (2004) principles of Guidance and Counselling include:
1. Principles relating to service targets:
a. Guidance and Counseling serves all individuals regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic status.
b. Guidance and Counseling to deal with personal and individual behavior that is unique and dynamic.
c. Guidance and Counseling mindful of the stage and various aspects of individual development.
d. Guidance and counseling to give primary attention to the individual differences that became the subject of service orientation.
2. Principles with respect to individual problems:
a. Guidance and counseling to deal with matters concerning the influence of mental / physical adjustment of the individual against himself at home, at school, as well as in relation to social contacts and work, and conversely the effect of environment on mental and physical condition of individuals.
b. Social inequalities, economic, and cultural factor for the emergence of problems in individuals who all mark a major concern of guidance and counseling services.
3. Principles relating to program services:
a. Guidance and Counseling is an integral part of education and individual development efforts, hence the program guidance and konselingharus aligned and integrated with educational programs and development of learners.
b. Guidance and Counseling Program must be flexible, tailored to the needs of individuals, communities, and state institutions.
